Sanskrit theatre was performed on sacred ground by priests who had been trained in the necessary skills dance, music, and recitation in a [hereditary process]. Posted 18 June – A closer inspection of the ferrules with a magnifyer showed me that they are plated brass and that the welts have been torn or roughly cut off leaving an uneven jagged edge. I told the owner that I could strip, straighten, rewhip and dip the rod for him if he wanted. Getting new ferrules would cost more but if it was a wall hanger I could clean up the ends and put a shine on the old ones.
I told him what I learned here about value and age. I told him he would spend a hundred to get a rod worth thirty. He is going to put it away in a cupboard, in case in twenty years it might be worth more. So that’s the end of that. On a brighter note he gave me a nice pair of pale olive snowshoe bunny feet for my trouble. So thanks again guys.
For years they sold the Wonderod line. This page has four sections: Shakespeare Rod Date Codes. Dating chart for finding the manufacturing year for Shakespeare Fishing tackle.
They were built using thick leather which created more substantial shadows.
Prior to the first act, an induction frames the play as a “kind of history” played in front of a befuddled drunkard named Christopher Sly who is tricked into believing that he is a lord. The play is performed in order to distract Sly from his “wife,” who is actually Bartholomew, a servant, dressed as a woman. In the play performed for Sly, the “shrew” is Katherina, the eldest daughter of Baptista Minola, a lord in Padua.
Numerous men, including Gremio and Tranio, deem Katherina an unworthy option for marriage because of her notorious assertiveness and willfulness. On the other hand, men such as Hortensio and Gremio are eager to marry her younger sister Bianca. However, Baptista has sworn Bianca is not allowed to marry until Katherina is wed; this motivates Bianca’s suitors to work together to find Katherina a husband so that they may compete for Bianca.

Those click-pawl models are still in production, largely unchanged from their functional form of We found that Pflueger had a very long and illustrious history in fishing tackle manufacture and was awarded multiple patents for fly reel design. In this, Part Two, we will examine the iteration of the Pflueger Medalist most recognized by contemporary anglers; the reversible drag design.
Changing a Medalist from right-hand-wind to left-hand-wind is very easy, but it is a process that has seldom been explained in a step-by-step format.
Because of less public angling access in Great Britain and continental Europe, there are fewer anglers, but large numbers of people there do fish.

Mesopotamia In the museum at Baghdad, in the British Museum , and in the University of Pennsylvania at Philadelphia are finely executed objects in beaten copper from the royal graves at Ur modern Tall al-Muqayyar in ancient Sumer. This relief illustrates the high level of art and technical skill attained by the Sumerians in the days of the 1st dynasty of Ur c. The malleability of unalloyed copper, which renders it too soft for weapons, is peculiarly valuable in the formation of vessels of every variety of form; and it has been put to this use in almost every age.
Copper domestic vessels were regularly made in Sumer during the 4th millennium bc and in Egypt a little later. Egypt From whatever source Egypt may have obtained its metalworking processes, Egyptian work at a remote period possesses an excellence that, in some respects, has never been surpassed. Throughout Egyptian history, the same smiths who worked in the precious metals worked also in copper and bronze.
Nearly every fashionable Egyptian, man or woman, possessed a hand mirror of polished copper, bronze, or silver. Copper pitchers and basins for hand washing at meals were placed in the tombs. An unusual example in the Metropolitan Museum of Art is plated with antimony to imitate silver, which was very rare in the Old Kingdom c.
The basins and the bodies of the ewers were hammered from single sheets of copper. The spouts of the ewers were cast in molds and attached to the bodies by means of copper rivets or were simply inserted in place and crimped to the bodies by cold hammering. Middle Ages Europe The first well-designed copper objects to survive in the West date from about the middle of the Carolingian period, the 8th century ad.
Who made them is not known, but one can assume that in the early Middle Ages they were mainly the work of monks.

This is the story of how it all happened beginning in Arve Valley, Cluses, France in the year This narrow gap is where the birth home is. The city was formed in when Baron Hugues de Faucigny Clusiens granted a Charter of Franchises, an act of empowerment that sets the municipal borders, the rights of Clusiens, and created the first form of governing elected officials. In the early 18th Century an economic adventure began in Cluses when a man from the valley named Ballaloud first introduced watch making to Clusiens.
He learned the art of watch making in Germany and started making many variations thus creating many jobs. Everyone worked together to produce different types of parts used in the composition of watches and clocks that were then resold in Geneva through major watchmaker centers.

This famous British family business was probably founded in , although it is possible that they were making tackle on a small scale ten years before that. It seems that all the work J. By , Youngs were making five different reels, none of which bore their name, because they were all sold by other companies, a situation which continued right up to the Second World War, at which point the factory switched its output over to making parts for aircraft instruments and, interestingly enough, the brass surround for the Spitfire gun firing button.
However the Locomotive Naming Committee’s three senior railway officers:
See Article History Alternative Titles: Like hunting , fishing originated as a means of providing food for survival. Fishing as a sport, however, is of considerable antiquity. An Egyptian angling scene from about bce shows figures fishing with rod and line and with nets. A Chinese account from about the 4th century bce refers to fishing with a silk line, a hook made from a needle, and a bamboo rod, with cooked rice as bait.
References to fishing are also found in ancient Greek, Assyrian, Roman, and Jewish writings. Today, despite increased human populations creating a great number of demands on rivers and lakes, fishing for sport remains one of the most popular forms of outdoor recreation in the world. The problems of the modern angler fundamentally remain the same as those of every angler who came before:

Usually it is the inexperienced or beginner collector that has not realized the importance of learning what they are purchasing or selling but after a few costly mistakes they will realize this fact. I have designed page to inform advanced and beginner collectors what books are available on this subject and where they can be purchased. All the work is done for you. To purchase a book from Amazon Books it’s as simple as clicking on the Amazon Icon.
Other books are only available through the author. In this case I have listed methods to contact the author to purchase his book.

The same can be said for every single contributor to this site, of couse I take my hat off to everyone involved, for this site would be a lot poorer without them. In Derek’s case, the task of recording the individual histories of the ‘Britannia’ class locomotives has been a mammoth undertaking, and there have been times when the pair of us – just two bungling old geezers with a mutual love for trains and railways – were on our arthritic knees by the sheer size of it all.
So my hearty congratulations to him in completing the full histories of the following locomotives on this page Please note Nos are featured on the next page. Born in , Derek started train spotting with his brother Roger at the now-closed Monument Lane station, Birmingham, where he fondly remembers the ‘1 o’clock Brit’ on the 9. Since taking early retirement as a HGV Mechanic in , Derek’s knowledge of all things power-driven led him to making a start on correcting the many anomalies he found in books and magazines regarding the BR Class 7MT Britannias.
His research has taken him more than 3 years, and I was pleased he agreed to pass on his findings here. However, Derek’s main reservation was that, whilst the first group of Britannias are indeed very interesting, and in some cases diverse, the third batch of engines are somewhat mundane by comparison, and so whilst he felt confident of filling a page with information on say, Nos , it would be tricky to give the same result with to
